Who is Willie Cole?

The calm, cool and collected yet very talented individual with quite extraordinary personality. The former Studio One recording artist that now decided to pay tribute to Studio One rythm.

But nothing can say it better than he the man himself:

"I was close to the late Delroy Wilson. He was living on Second Street. Trench Town at that time, about three houses away. Right before he died, he came to me & told me that I must sing his "Rain From The Skies" hit.

Today is the day, i guess!

I used to hang out and sing at street corners with the nephews of Jimmy Tucker and Alton Ellis... I knew Bob Marley very well, we were living in the same home on Second Street in the 60s. He told me that one day, I will be a singer. At the time, I didn't take it seriously. But it eventually happened... I was going to Church at that time, I used to be the lead singer for the Church group. My first recording was with Sonic Sound and Sly & Robbie, that incluedes Mona Lisa. This one spent 11 weeks as number 9 on the RJR chart in 1991. I did a few more recordings after that. I have shared the stage with a lot of international Reggae names such as Willie Stewart and friends from Third World, members of the group Cotch, Freddie McGregor, Doreth Wisdom, Dobbie Dobson and many more. In the mid 90s I met Sir Coxon Dodd & did a number of recordings with him under his label, Studio One, including songs like Rock&Roll come to Trinidad, Mr. Fix It, Come closere to me.

Sly Dunbar and DJ Scotty's brother who lives in Japan suggested my stage name, Willie Cole."
